My submission for the 2017 Ubisoft NXT 3D Modelling challenge.
The temple is based on several structures in Petra, Jordan, where a cold war soviet submarine appeared over-night. This monastery is basecamp for the Russian Investigative team.
It was very important to represent the architecture and geology correctly. Each stone texture and architectural feature correspond to actual locations within petra. Beyond that, I wanted to capture the sense of a 'modern' Petra, one that tourists visit, hence the benches and trash bins referenced from the UNESCO site.
